The Bentones

The Bentones are back with two more albums of light jazzy standards and plain old good time music. Jammin’ The Joan-Dome is good natured fun much like their first two albums although it seems a little more laid back to my ears. “Take the A-Train” resembles a lazy stroll rather than a subway ride. “Whisky Before Breakfast” has some nice country/bluegrass vibes. The instrumentation of mandolins, guitars, and bass is ocassionally assisted by accordian and fiddle. The over-all effect is a sunday afternoon jam aided by some wine coolers and good friends. Brazil Nuts ventures into something a little different. This is the Bentones’ take on Brazilian music and they tackle it with same casual fun attitude evident on their other albums. The die-hard Brazilian music lovers may not be impressed but the rest of us will enjoy this very likeable romp. The two albums are available in 160kbps MP3.
